Born 1955, 1997-2013: Member of the Executive Board and 1.1.2014 – 31.07.2016: CEO of Oesterreichische Kontrollbank AG. In 1978 he received his doctorate in law, from 1976 – 1984 he worked at OeKB in Vienna and for Morgan Stanley in New York. From 1984 economic policy advisor at the Federal Ministry of Finance, from 1986 economic and cultural policy advisor to the Federal Chancellor, 1988-1990 Secretary General of the Austrian Federal Theater Association, 1990 – 1997 Federal Minister for Education, Science and the Arts.
Dr. Scholten is also President of the Bruno Kreisky Forum, President of the Supervisory Board of the Wiener Festwochen and the Austrian Film Institute and Member of the Media and Performance Committee at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
