
Andreas Gotwald studied experimental physics with a focus on medical physics in Austria. He later completed part-time postgraduate studies in Engineering Management at Caltech and International Business at Thunderbird School of Global Management (USA). He spent over 11 years working for the Economic Chamber of Tyrol and the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber in Innsbruck, Vienna, Los Angeles, and Brussels, specializing in research, development, innovation, and funding.
Subsequently, he moved to the private sector, where he has worked for over 25 years as an expert and technology consultant in the fields of R&D, innovation, financing, and public funding for industrial investment projects and high-tech startups. Since 2008, he has been Managing Director for Technology and Public Funding at the TPA Group (Austria & 11 CEE countries).
His personal focus lies in fostering collaboration between science and business. He regularly initiates joint projects with companies and universities/universities of applied sciences and also contributes as a project partner. Since 1996, he has continuously taught at universities and universities of applied sciences in Austria and abroad on topics such as international project management, financing and public funding, and international project development.
Since 1998, he has served as an expert and evaluator for the European Commission in Brussels across various EU funding programs. Since 2014, he has also been a court-certified expert for the valuation and commercialization of patents, national and EU funding, and financial planning for high-tech startups.
Since June 2025, Andreas Gotwald has been responsible for the financial affairs of the Club of Rome – Austrian Chapter in his role as treasurer.
