ETNO member companies have a long record of commitment to environmental and sustainability
standards. Back in 1996, ETNO launched its Environmental Charter through which signatories committed
to high level environmental protection standards and to regular reporting. In 2004, this document was
upgraded into a Sustainability Charter, embracing the three pillars of the EU sustainable development
strategy: environmental protection, social progress and economic growth. ETNO is also a founding member
of the Global e-Sustainability Initiative and joined the United Nations Global Compact programme.
