Brussels: Systems Thinking, Complexity and Network Science

Aurelio Peccei Lectures


October 21: The 74th Aurelio Peccei Lecture and Dialogue in Brussels is held by Erik Van Den Broecke with the title: Systems Thinking, Complexity and Network Science.

The lecture is organized by the EU Chapter of the Club of Rome in collaboration with the European Support Centre.

Winterthur, Vaduz, Schaffhausen: General Assembly of the International Club


October 27: The public part of the General Assembly 2010 of the International Club will start on October 27 in Vaduz, Liechtenstein, with an international seminar on the global trends that will drive the future of finance: Preparing for the Future: The Role of Finance.


October 28: A public event will be held in Winterthur. Themes are:
  • Happiness: A World unknown to the “homo oeconomicus” – New pathways for Sustainable Wealth. (Workshop Language: GERMAN),
  • Modelling and Systems Dynamics: A Workshop about the (un)predictability of Complex Systems in a Globalised World. (Workshop Language: ENGLISH),
  • Mobility: Switzerland as a role model for the Future of Transport? (Workshop Language: GERMAN),
  • Growth: The Future of a much-criticised Concept. (Workshop Language: ENGLISH).


October 29: The General Assembly of the Members will take place in Winterthur. Invitations to this internal event have been sent out by the International Centre in Winterthur. The agenda is also available in the members area of the conference website.


October 30: A seminar "Sustainability in Practice - Hands-on Approaches towards Resource and Energy" will take place in Schaffhausen. More information will be available soon.

            PAST EVENTS

Bucharest: The Blue Economy - Romanian Edition



Sept 22: The Romanian version of the BLUE ECONOMY, the Report to the Club of Rome, was presented by Gunter Pauli in Bucharest.

Gunter Pauli's initiative presents 100 innovations which are inspired by nature and aims at the creation of 100 million jobs in a "Blue Economy" on the Blue Planet.


Călin Georgescu

Călin Georgescu, Secretary-General of the Romanian Association for the Club of Rome and Chairman of the Board of the European Support Centre, had taken the initiative to have the Report to the Club of Rome translated. The Romanian and the Hungarian Edition are the first European languages into which the English version has been translated.

Mugur Isarescu, President of the Romanian Association for the Club of Rome and Governor of the National Bank of Romania, welcomed Gunter Pauli in Bucharest.


Gunter Pauli, Mircea Maliţa

Gunter Pauli and Mircea Maliţa, Honorary Member of the Club of Rome and co-author of the Report to the Club of Rome "No Limits to Learning" discussed the findings of the book.
