Ernst Ulrich von Weizsäcker
Ernst Ulrich von Weizsäcker introduced "Faktor 5" and demonstrated that the present level of wealth could be maintained with 20 per cent of the resources
used today. He presented case studies from the construction sector and discussed the impact of the rebound effect: In the past, efficiency gains have been
overcompensated by increasing consumption - because the price signals of the markets pointed to the wrong direction. In addition, von Weizsäcker demonstrated that an environmental Kuznets curve does not yet exist for greenhouse gas emissions and discussed the issue of lifestyles.
