Joint Workshop of the Polish and German Association: "The EU at a Dead-lock?"

October 16th - 18th, 2005: The German Association
and the Polish Association of the Club of Rome discussed new perspectives
for European integration at a workshop organized in Hamburg in co-operation with the Europa-Kolleg. With great efforts
and after overcoming many obstacles,
the Constitutional Treaty had been elaborated as an design to give new momentum to the EU improving its governance
within the widening community. This endeavour, even with its compromising character, was seemingly too ambitious.
Its “philosophy” is not getting the needed support of the EU-citizenship as shown from “non “and “Nee!“ decisions
in France and the Netherlands. Which are the lessons to be drawn?
The programme is available for download.
