Brussels: ICT for a Global Sustainable Future
Roland Burger opens the Feedback Session
January 22,23: The Fondazione Aurelio Peccei (Italian Chapter of the Club of Rome) has been co-organizing a conference
on the impact of ICT on a sustainable future. Among the topics were:
- ICT for climate change reduction/management - The need for a global ICT architecture to manage
emissions from international transport (aviation AND shipping),
- ICT for education, life long learning and addressing the Digital Divide,
- ICT and energy efficiency, ICT and waste management.
The event was held with the support of the European Support Centre of the Club of Rome.
Among the speakers were Hans Gert Pöttering, President of the European Parliament,
Jakob von Uexküll, Anders Wijkman, MEP, and Vice President of the Club of Rome,
CoR Member Sergej Kapitza, and many more experts on the subjects.
