Europe: Towards a Constructive Ideology
to Defy the World Problematique

About the Statement

Europe is an imagined community, but it lacks a constructive imagination. Europe’s imagination is blocked by a fear for the future, by short sighted nationalisme and political incompetence. At the same time there are real global threats that ask for an answer. We must change the threats in challenges or driving forces.

What Europe should drive is a new ideology based upon

  • dignity or human rights,
  • social quality,
  • sustainability.

This ideology should be the core of the European constitution. The impact of this is not only upon the European countries and/or citizens, but also upon the globalised world at large.
