About the Statement
The flattening of the world in the global age places the European Union in the position to assess more
thoroughly its options towards its neighbors and towards the pase it retains in
adapting to this constantly changing environment.
The European Union does not ride the global wave yet.
Instead it struggles to stay in the game by continuingly
reforming its institutions, by strengthening the links between
its policies and by improving its decision making mechanism.
All these after careful consideration of the interests
of the 27 member states and the interests of the community they are part of.
