The Valencian Group of the Spanish Chapter of the Club of Rome hosted the conference for the European National Associations of the Club of Rome. Members of the non-European Associations and Members of the Club of Rome and tt30 were also invited to participate.

The topic of the event was

"Europe and the New Dimensions of Sustainability. Multiculturalism and Human Quality".

Dennis Meadows held a keynote speech introduced by Ricardo Diez-Hochleitner, Honorary President of the Club of Rome. Dennis Meadows described, how climate change and oil depletion will affect the future of the enlarged Europe. There was also an introdution to the Spanish edition of "Limits to Growth - the 30-Year Update".

The event was opened by Rafael Blasco, Coordinator of the Valencian Group and Esko Kalimo, Chair of the Board of the European Support Centre. The opening also included statements by Teresa Mendizábal and José Manuel Moran, Vice Presidents of the Spanish Chapter. Representatives of the National Associations were invited to present their work during the conference.
