CoR-EU, The Club of Rome EU Chapter, is an independent non-profit Association, registered under Belgian law, affiliated with the Club of Rome. It aims to build bridges between Belgian society, the EU institutions and the Club of Rome as a leading think tank at world level. Its mission is to act as a catalyst of reflection on sustainable development in Europe and at the global level.
Its aims are:
-
To identify the most crucial sustainability problems facing European society; to analyse them in the global context and to reflect on alternative future solutions for a sustainable European society, including the elaboration of specific scenarios for the future of the European continent.
-
To initiate and facilitate cutting-edge research in which the major theme is the development of ground-breaking concepts for globally sustainable development and for the specific contributions that Europe can make.
-
To organise a societal discourse on the implementation of European policies for sustainable development in a global context, involving key public authorities and private sector decision-makers, the media as well as the public at large.
CoR-EU is composed of individuals of outstanding ethics, ability and with well-established reputations in their professional work, acting in a personal capacity, who subscribe to the goals of the Association and who are active in the Brussels region – whether in Belgian society, with the European institutions or with Brussels based international organisations.
