Not only natural capital is decreasing, we are also losing more and more social capital and it is possible that the two trends accelerate each other. Without social capital, however, the economy cannot work. The Austrian Chapter of the Club of Rome organized a symposium on the role of social capital in a sustainable economy. The proceedings of the workshop which was held in 2005 in co-operation with the Austrian Ministry for Economy and Labour, the Austrian Lebensministerium, the Ecosocial Forum Europe and the European League for Economic Co-operation are available for download and as paper copy.
