ISBN: 84-609-7242-9

The Future of People with Disability in the World gives an overview of the situation that the disabled face in different parts of the world, with special emphasis on less advanced regions. This document constitutes a call for cooperation and makes specific proposals to overthrow the double standard that excludes many people with disability from an active place in their communities. Above all, however, it stresses that it is only with the full integration of people with disability that we will be able to defend and promote human diversity. The report seeks to contribute to instilling new values and new ways for people to work with each other. When today’s men and women truly find the support and mutual understanding they need from one another, they will be able to develop in their own uniqueness, and work together to build a new social and economic order that is fairer and more efficient because it excludes no one.
