The present global economic crisis has a special impact on the younger generation.
When employers reduce hiring new staff, those generations which are new on the labour market
are strongly affected. There is the risk of a "lost generation" among which a large number of
individuals will never manage to get into regular professional employment.
On the other hand under globalisation young people move internationally, many of them are young immigrants.
This raises the question of social bonds in globalized societies.
So globalisation has a significant effect on the health of the younger generation. The mechanisms are however mostly indirect and therefore not sufficiently discussed. The publication intends to increase awareness for these mechanisms and to initiate a scientific discussion.
