The European National Associations of the Club of Rome

Overview 2005/2006 - Valencia Conference Summary

available in English

The mission of the Club of Rome is supported by its National Associations. Alexander King stated in 1979: "The small size and free-ranging nature of the Club of Rome and its determination to restrict its activities to catalytic functions has been the secret of its vitality, but has made it impossible for us to work in depth in any particular country." Thus, the National Associations of the Club have closed a gap. They approach the global problems in terms of a country's own cultural values and contribute to the general understanding of the human condition on the planet.

Presently 20 of the 30 National Associations belong to the European Group. The Valencia Conference held in 2006 demonstrated the successful work of the European National Associations.

This publication intends to give an overview on recent activities and projects of the European National Associations of the Club of Rome.
