Originally written to brief readers on the nature of Christianity and Christian institutions, the book came to be in much demand because of the paucity of easily accessible information on the subjects that it treats. It is on the one hand very exciting for Christians to read statements about their religion from an outside perspective that includes facets of their belief which they are sometimes not aware of, and it is on the other hand the author’s firm belief that Muslim Arabs need to know more about the Christians who have historically lived in their midst, and the different traditions these Christians represent, to better understand the rich heritage they hold in common with them.
